A Procurement deviation occurs when normal procurement practices cannot be followed.

Examples are

• Emergency procurement
• When the normal three quote system cannot be applied
• When a sole supplier is involved

Authorised users in Green-Field have the option to "request" a deviation. The user will have to specify a reason for the deviation.

Green-Field will then override the existing approval structure and replace it with the "deviated" structure. This allows customers to setup a separate approval structures to deal with deviations. In most cases these structures look very similar to the original structure with the addition of a senior manager to authorise the deviation. The deviation and the reasons for the deviation are also recorded in the requisitions audit trail.
